So when I first came to New York I decided to make an album to correspond with each year of college. First off was Frosh, released in 2007 and pretty much introduced me to the world. Frosh is my baby.
Next is S’more, an experimental album. I took a bunch of rock songs, covered them with a live band, and sampled the tracks into new songs. The result was a weird funky mix of songs that dealt with my hectic love-sick life.
This next year I went to Ghana, and wrote JR, my masterpiece. But don’t get excited, I’m not releasing it yet. JR is influenced by Ghanaiany Hip Life, Bay Area Hyphy, and good old fashion New York Boom Bap.
