One of my favorite events in the city has always been The Subway Series. Every month freestyle emcees, singers, and poets crowd onto a random New York City train and rock to the rhythm of a crowd of Beatboxers.
Created by beatboxing legend Kid Lucky, the Subway Series has seen a comeback this year with Grey Matter, who you might remember if you’ve listened “Award Tour Freestyle” on my myspace page (or gone to any show of mine in NYC). This very special year end wrap up got kicked off with a very special visit from the NYPD. After a few choice words with Kid Lucky, Rabbi D, Hired Gun and some others the series rolled on….and I got back on the train.
At the end of the ride Kid Lucky announced that The Subway Series would be taking on a new face by becoming apart of the official MTA music program.

The whole night ended at the Staten Island Ferry which we rode across the river and back created music the entire time.
