For those of you who don’t know what/who/when/why/where/who S.O.B.’s is, its a landmark venue in NYC and one of the few that I have yet to grace the stage at, that is until last night! The band and I threw down last night at the Homebase 1-Year Anniversary with Colin Munroe, The Kickdrums, Diz Gibran, and Melo-X. This was the grand debut of the live autotune over F.A.N.G. (“F” a Nice Guy), and the crowd loved i (see below).

The cats that performed were really dope, and it was cool to see a bunch of other bands that had electronica/live hybrid set-ups. My favorite were the Kickdrums who used MPCalong with live keyboards and guitar.

Colin Munroe, the opener had a guitarist, and drummer that played along to a track loaded into Pro Tools, pretty cool.

Melo-X who has been seen djing for Theophilus London and Mickey Factz rocked his solo set. He switched it up by rocking off his MPC in place of a dj. He mad a beat, then rapped on it, very simple very creative. (I like him better with the full band though).

Diz Gibran flew all the way from LA to rock, if you haven’t heard his single “Yours Truly” listen to it now!

Homebase have been my peeps ever since the days of intern Nyle back at Def Jam. The have a pary EVERY WEDNESDAY at Bob Bar NYC.
