I can’t remember the last time I actually got to party at my own show. NYU senior Alex Prokop threw at graduation party that filled up both floors of Santos, and lasted until….I don’t know how late it was but it was late enough to be called early.

The crazy thing is that the Naysayers got couldn’t roll through last minute so I invited some friends. London, Donny Goines….

Hard to believe its been a whole year since Let the Beat Build dropped. Last year when I graduated I really wanted to rock LTBB live, but when it came submission time for performances, the video wasn’t cut yet. Poop. Well this year Dean Mary Schmit Campbell asked us to come back and rock it. It was superdope, definitely one of those memories that stays with you.

We hit up Natalie Tennenbaum to play piano pretty much the day before. She came through hit everything perfectly without any rehearsal, unless you count listening to Benamin play the sample on the floor.

Hands down the best green room we’ve in been in so far. 2 bathrooms and a shower.

Nyle's pick for Philly's best

After recovering from Santos and the after party we all headed down to the Chinatown Bus and scooted to Philly. I picked up the Naysayers in my mama’s car (an appropriately Ford “Freestyle”) and started to head to the concert. But the Naysayers wanted a real Philly cheesesteak. So I took them to Dalessandro’s in Roxborough.

After getting lost looking for Haverford college, we finally arrived and were greated by some friendly faces including The Five One who opened up the concert with nothing but energy. I’m a fan of these guys check out this Simba/Mufasa tribute here.

The crowd at Haverford had sooooooooooo much love. Everybody went wild, and there were definitely a bunch of Let the Beat Build fans in the house.

After a much needed chill session, it was time to feed our bellies. If you live in Philly (or Haverford for that matter) you know that 7-Eleven just doesn’t cut it. Wawa is a wonderful world hoagies, snacks, milkshakes and more, and on top of that its clean!

Hey guys, we had a dope weekend starting this past Friday! To kick it off we had our first show out of Lake Johnson since God know when at Santos!!! We’ve rocked the downstairs a couple times before, the BIG room upstairs it an entirely different planet

Andrew W.K. dj’ed the party, and Cherie Lily and Menya killed it on stage. The sound there is really crazy. If you don’t see us there, we’ll be rocking gRAGEuation on May 12th on the same stage!

Nyle at Surreal Estate

We headed over to the afterparty at Surreal Estate. Since Lake Johnson is out of commission, the good folks over there opened up their doors to us. It was a star-studded night, with Donny Goines, Fresh Daily, and Shawn Chrystopher rocking their sets while Soundwave, Good Goose, KQuick, and DJ Cutbird were on the 1’s and 2’s.

The crowd at the afterparty wasn’t as big as an LJ party, but it certainly had the vibe and energy (I can’t remember the last time I got to dance at my own party!). Thanks to everybody that came out and had a great time.

My homie and long time compadre Genesis Be just released her first video today! If you follow Genesis like I have, you’ve been waiting a looooong time for this one and now its finally here! Check out the video release party video below at Katra this past Saturday. It was raining cats and dogs, but was the most fun I’ve had at a club in a couple years.
